2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel
Who says that a Porsche can't be good on gas? The 2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel gets surprising fuel efficiency numbers, and it's the only diesel Porsche that North Americans can get their hands on. It's been available in Europe since 2009. Under it's hood is a turbocharged and intercooled 3-litre V6 diesel engine that kicks out a respectable 240 horses and 406 lb-foot of torque mated to an eight speed transmission.. After all, it's still a Porsche. All that and it only uses 20 MPG in the city and 29 on the highway. You'll also find the same engine in the Volkswagen Touareg and Audi's Q7 and the upcoming Q5. This SUV is much more lighter and responsive than the Tourareg or Q7 though. The engine is built by Audi and then shipped over to Porsche. The Cayenne is an SUV that drives like a sports car. Diesels aren't usually known for their Porsche-like performance, but they somehow pull it off with the 2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel. Those two extra gears make a big difference. More

2013 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S
Although Porsche has recently added a diesel model to its Cayenne S range, the German car maker continues to expand its stable of high-performance SUVs, this time giving us a Turbo S version. Just last week, Porsche officially announced a new version of its popular Cayenne. The Turbo S model now becomes its most powerful SUV. Compared to the Turbo version, it delivers 50 more horses and 37 lb-ft more torque. With its revamped intake manifold and electronics, the 4.8-litre V8 engine develops 550 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. This increased power and torque shaves 0.2 seconds off its sprint time (now 4.5 seconds 0-100 km/h) and ups its top speed by 5 km/h to 283 km/h. Fuel consumption and CO2 remain unchanged at 11.5 litres per 10 km and 270 g/km, respectively. More

The Original Porsche Found In A Barn, And It's Electric
The very first Porsche ever made, built in 1898 has been unearthed in a shed in Austria, Ferdinand Porsche's home country, in nearly pristine condition. Best known for it's performance sports cars, Porsche has recently experimented with electric powered vehicles, notably the new hybrid 918 Spyder. However, the company is hardly new to electric vehicles. The 1898 Porsche recently found in a barn was the company's first EV. Called the Egger-Lohner electric vehicle, C.2 Phaeton model, it is the first car design ever produced by company founder Ferdinand Porsche. He was 22 years old and working for a company called Jakon Lohner & Company, who made luxury vehicles for Europe's royalty. Porsche engraved a "P1" mark onto the car's parts. More

2015 Porsche Macan

About a decade ago, Porsche caused a scandal when it veered away from it's high performance sports cars and created a people mover called the Cayenne. That mid-sized crossover was a hit for the company, and now Porsche AG is doing it all over again.
